SkylArc Studio is a day services program that provides opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to express themselves through art.

Located on Main Street in Penn Yan, SkylArc Studio provides a safe and comfortable environment that encourages creativity and self-expression for individuals.

While exploring artistic abilities, individuals not only learn about art, they learn about themselves. Staff work with individuals to foster their artistic capabilities while assisting them in developing skills in communication, socialization, and money management. By participating in the SkylArc program, individuals achieve a higher level of independence, a stronger awareness of responsibility, and a sense of productivity in the community.

Artists specialize in glass mosaics, but also work in the mediums of acrylics, paper mache, photography, glass fusing, pottery and printmaking.  Much of the work is commissioned by individuals and businesses and non-profit organizations in the community. The studio participates annually in art shows in the area. Members of the studio are always pleased to welcome visitors and are proud to showcase their artistry at the gallery.

Arc of Yates hosts Kid's Day to showcase agency to school-aged children

“What does my mom or dad do all day long when they’re at work?”

That was the question that 33 children of Arc of Yates employees learned the answer to yesterday during “Kid’s Day.”  The day-long program offered children a look into the inner workings of the Agency as they toured the facilities, completed sensitivity activities, and shared lunch with the individuals in the Vocational Education program.
