SkylArc Studio is a day services program that provides opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to express themselves through art.

Located on Main Street in Penn Yan, SkylArc Studio provides a safe and comfortable environment that encourages creativity and self-expression for individuals.

While exploring artistic abilities, individuals not only learn about art, they learn about themselves. Staff work with individuals to foster their artistic capabilities while assisting them in developing skills in communication, socialization, and money management. By participating in the SkylArc program, individuals achieve a higher level of independence, a stronger awareness of responsibility, and a sense of productivity in the community.

Artists specialize in glass mosaics, but also work in the mediums of acrylics, paper mache, photography, glass fusing, pottery and printmaking.  Much of the work is commissioned by individuals and businesses and non-profit organizations in the community. The studio participates annually in art shows in the area. Members of the studio are always pleased to welcome visitors and are proud to showcase their artistry at the gallery.

Golisano Foundation Generosity

Keuka Lake School, a program of the Arc of Yates, was awarded a grant in the amount of $125,000 from the Golisano Foundation to support its renovation and expansion project.  Construction began on the school in July of 2016 when a new facility needed to be readied in time for fall classes.  The renovated campus features additional classrooms and therapy space, a library and a handicap accessible playground.

“Identifying a new location for the school in a short timeframe was unexpected, both from a logistical and financial standpoint” stated Daniele Lyman-Torres, President and CEO of the Arc of Yates. “We are extremely pleased that the Foundation recognized Keuka Lake School’s value to our community and awarded us this significant grant.”

KLS is an early childhood program that provides special education, physical, occupational and speech therapies for students with developmental and intellectual disabilities.  The school offers both Universal and three year old Pre-K opportunities through collaboration with the Penn Yan Central School District.  Keuka Lake School also offers daycare services for children from 18 months to 12 years of age.
