Arc of Yates partners with Literacy Volunteers for reading project at Keuka Lake School

Penn Yan, NY (May 4, 2017)-  Just a year shy of his retirement from the Penn Yan School District, educator Dick Shaver was back in the classroom doing what he does best- connecting to students.  Shaver read to students at Keuka Lake School as part of the Literacy Volunteers KTrain program which aims to increase Kindergarten readiness and literacy in the district.

“It was great to see Dick back in the school setting,” said Deb Fabris-Coon, Arc of Yates Chief Program Officer and Director of Keuka Lake School.  “The kids responded to him and really enjoyed having him as a guest reader.”

Keuka Lake School offers a daycare program, early intervention pre-school, and Universal Pre-Kindergarten classes in its new facility at 240 North Avenue in Penn Yan.
