The Center for Lifelong Learning provides person-centered services and supports to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to assist them in reaching their greatest potential. In addition to staff evaluations, each person's abilities, relationships, interests and dreams are explored in the planning process to ensure an individualized program.

The Center for Lifelong Learning and it's various institutes offer unique and endless possibilities for activities and skill training. Additional facilities provide state-of-the-art exercise equipment and indoor sports/movement space.

Individuals participate in activities of their choice (such as cooking, technology, recreation, artistic expression, exercise, music and more).  Individuals gain skills in communication, mobility, socialization, safety , personal care, money management and daily activities necessary to increase their independence. A variety of job opportunities and preliminary job skill training is available.

Highly trained and supportive staff encourage individuals to fully participate in community life. Through many volunteer opportunities and community connections, people are discovering their own interests, talents and aspirations, while developing independence and self-esteem.

Programs at the Center run Monday through Friday from 8 to 4.  The Arc of Yates has been providing day services since 1984, and are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in the field to enrich the lives of those we serve.

The Fine Art Institute also known as Skylarc helps the individuals enrolled explore artistic abilities and not only learn about art, they learn about themselves. Staff work with individuals to foster their artistic capabilities while assisting them in developing skills in communication, socialization, and money management. By participating in the Skylarc program, individuals achieve a higher level of independence, a stronger awareness of responsibility, and a sense of productivity in the community.

Artists specialize in glass mosaics, but also work in the mediums of acrylics, paper mache, photography, glass fusing, pottery and printmaking.  Much of the work is commissioned by individuals and businesses and non-profit organizations in the community. The studio participates annually in art shows in the area.
