Hourly Waiver Respite

Hourly Waiver Respite (Respite) is a service for people with developmental disabilities to provide relief to caregivers and provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Respite services are a means to offer service provisions when caregivers are absent or need relief. This service differs from Habilitation services, as Respite provides temporary housing and support for an individual or support in an individual’s home, so they may remain independent.

To be eligible for Respite an individual must be enrolled in Medicaid, enrolled in the HCBS OMRDD Waiver, and live in the community by themselves or with a caregiver.
